From Rakul Preet Singh to Bhumi Pednekar and Malaika Arora, Bollywood celebrities are embracing the ghee coffee trend, and now Soha Ali Khan has joined the list. While coffee is already a morning ritual for many, blending it with a teaspoon of ghee – popularly called ghee coffee or bulletproof coffee – is being hailed as a wellness booster.
Soha Ali Khan, who recently tried it for the first time, admitted that though ghee coffee has health benefits, “it is not for everyone” and should be consumed carefully. The drink is believed to improve energy levels, support metabolism, and aid gut health due to the presence of good fats like butyric acid.
Adding an Ayurvedic perspective, Dt Swati from Deep Ayurveda explains:
“Short Chain Fatty Acids (SCFA) in ghee strengthen gut health and can enhance the antioxidant benefits of coffee. However, moderation is key. It is best taken in black coffee form, not more than three times a week. If you exercise regularly, having it daily can be beneficial.”
So, while ghee coffee might indeed be a superfood-inspired trend, it is important to tailor it to one’s lifestyle and health needs. To know more about the Ayurvedic view on ghee coffee, you can watch Dt Swati’s detailed video on the Deep Ayurveda YouTube channel.
